Experience
My primary source of income over the last 5 years has been teaching guitar, ukulele, and bass to students age 6-18; I have a lot of experience in that field. Additionally, I have tutored english (general english), literature (literary analysis), lower level math, philosophy, formal (symbolic) logic, and critical thinking. I've led Bible Studies and Apologetics Groups as well, though mostly on a volunteer basis. Helping students develop interest and competence in whatever area they need is my primary passion--saving failing grades and high-pressure situations have been some of my most worthwhile. I am looking to help K-12, as well as college, students improve--that is my purpose in life. An associates degree in philosophy, current enrollment in a BA program, years of independent study, and an article up for peer review are signs of my competency in the field of philosophy. Logic, which is technically part of philosophy, and not science, is a specialty of mine: many years of courses and tutoring have equipped me with advanced logic skills. I can help you understand difficult philosophical concepts, and help write/edit your papers. One of my strongest points is writing and proofreading. I have saved students' grades, even students with learning disabilities, by reteaching them how to compose, analyse, proof-read, and edit essays in both technical and creative areas. Writing is one of the most important disciplines of human life, and sadly it has been neglected in many schools, and culture in general. I have also worked as a professional proofreader and editor for legal and financial documents.

Hobbies
I'm a substitute teacher, tutor, and Philosophy and Greek Studies student with a passion for academics, especially in the realm of the humanities. Writing and researching both on a technical/academic level (peer-review journals) and creatively (poetry, narrative essays) are my primary hobbies (yes, even outside of school!). Writing and recording music are other interests major interests of mine--I have two albums! You'll also find my playing board games at local game nights, and spending lots of time with my lovely wife.
